who doesn't love an amazing before and after?!

OK, I'm not gonna lie - my favorite things on photography websites are to watch "before and after" videos or play with the fun "sliders". I am so excited to do Moving Lives' very own "before and after video"!!! But before I get to that, let's do a fun little "slider" to show you a preview of the first photo we're going to work on!!

The woman below was one of the most confident women I've had the honor of shooting! She had no qualms whatsoever because she knows she's gorgeous! And you can see from the before and after below that I really did not change much at all! Even her fine lines (which there aren't many!) I simply softened, but did not delete! And that, my friends, is how we keep the natural beauty of every woman at the forefront of what we do.

To do this before and after I used three (yes, THREE!) programs:

  1. Adobe Lightroom (to add my own matte preset and adjust the exposure settings)
  2. Adobe Photoshop (to edit the hair, fine lines, blemishes, soften background, and pump up the eyes)
  3. AlienSkin Exposure2 (to add the light rays and bokeh effect)

Does it take a while? Yes. This is an art. Anyone out there can get Lightroom and start adding presets here and there. But it takes an artist to be able to find the beauty and bring it out in each and every shot. I'm certainly not self-taught - yes, I have a four-year degree in Design, but I also have trained through other channels to work on my photoshop skills and learn the tools o the trade.

Look forward to the upcoming video on the actual editing process :-) I know I am!
